Horse and Cart on Salthill Road, click to MAGNIFY!A short drive from Galway will bring you to the suburb of Salthill, which is one of Ireland's most popular Seaside resorts.

The horse and cart on the left were seen on the road to Salthill. In the early 20th century Salthill was still separated by farmland from Galway, until the arrival of the railway brought increased prosperity to the whole region and the city expanded.



Relaxing in on the beach whilst the children play, click to MAGNIFY!The beaches in Salthill are safe for children and the 2 1/2 mile long promenade is the perfect spot to go for a stroll.

Salthill's numerous sporting facilities include the Galway golf course, mini golf and the Blackrock diving and swimming area.
